In the local supermarket, loud background music always plays advertising campaigns, and the narrow aisles are lined with a plethora of products on both sides. The small vegetable section is crammed with various types of green and yellow vegetables, marked with tiny price tags bearing Katakana names I can never seem to remember.
Every visit to this store frustrates me, but its low prices keep me coming back. I thought that visualizing this frustration might make it more relatable.
The color green typically conveys positive meanings such as balance, peace, safety, calmness, nature, freshness, health, and vitality. However, looking at green vegetables makes me feel the opposite: irritated and anxious. Why is that?
It's because looking at vegetables makes me imagine their bitterness or astringency, leading to a sense of unease. That's why I created this animation.
